Since 1925, Corona has been making life’s simple pleasures all the more enjoyable. Now, we’re bringing that spirit even closer to Canadians.
With its growing popularity around the world, Corona is carefully expanding its brewing footprint and we are proud to announce that Canada has been selected as one of the countries where it will be brewed domestically.
Our highly skilled team of Canadian brewmasters will be using the same ingredients and following the exact same brewing process that has been used to brew Corona for decades, including Corona’s unique fermentation method and the cryogenic storage of the same yeast strain used in Mexico. They’ll be working with experienced Corona brewmasters to ensure that the quality is to the high standard consumers expect, and expert taste panels will ensure that Corona’s signature crisp, refreshing taste will remain as satisfying as always.
The brewing expansion required a significant capital investment to equip our breweries to exactly duplicate Corona’s unique brewing process and exacting standards.
Corona is known for innovation in the fight against climate change and this expansion means more good news. With improved efficiency in supply chain steps along the way – from “seed to sip” – this will contribute to an annual carbon footprint decline of 10,369 metric tons. The impact is the same as taking 2,240 cars off the road every year. Corona also introduced more environmentally friendly packaging last year by removing all plastic from Corona cans, including plastic shrink wrap and plastic six-pack rings, and has now introduced new compostable cardboard packaging.
Corona is a favourite at any gathering and now, it’ll be easier than ever for Canadians to enjoy the unparalleled flavour of relaxation.
